Florence Morris reviews Damien Lovegrove

Introducing a new book from Damien Lovegrove—one of Britain’s foremost social photographers. We asked Guildmember, Florence Morris, to review it for us.
Wedding photographer Florence runs her photographic business in Yeovil and has won a number of awards, but concedes that she still has a lot to learn.
Damien’s book ‘blew her away’ and has given her the inspiration she needs to become more creative. Here is her review.

The Complete Guide to Professional
Wedding Photography by
Damien Lovegrove

“When Joan visited me recently to help with some business advice, she suggested that I take a look at Damien’s website, and I could see straight away that I had some way to go before I could achieve my goal of £4000 a wedding!
So the opportunity to review Damien’s book was very welcome, and I couldn’t
put it down. It makes for highly informative & lively reading, illustrated with relevant
beautiful images, colour and black and white, with easy to read text.
At just £19.99, this hard back A4 landscape book has 286 pages packed with photographic and business advice. Topics include: how to develop a style, digital post-production workflow, life and business strategies, marketing, logistics-planning the wedding day, financial mastery, and healthy profits. Damien’s condensed business advice comes straight to the point and is so relevant for the wedding photographer. Both this and the approximately 300 images have given me the inspiration to leave early for work in the morning!
It is immensely commendable how Damien and his wife Julie have so effectively and efficiently taken themselves to the top in the wedding photographic industry in a relatively short space of time. This is so obviously a result of their attitude to business as much as their photographic skill, and this book succeeds in passing on the passion which will help them to stay at the top for as long as they wish.
If you know you can, and should, do better with your business, then this book is a must.”
